YOYOYOYO! These next couple of weeks the Calvin crew is going to be on the grind oh so hard. This Wednesday we are doing a performance on Balcony TV! Check out their site at http://balconytv.com/. We will keep you all posted on the status of the video and throw out a url as soon as we get it.

Also, we are going to be performing at The Boro Bar and Grill on August 27th! All you Murfreesboro peeps should prepare yourselves for a super rowdy night.

Last but not least, Calvin will be doing a performance on MTTV on August 31st. People of Murfreesboro should definitely keep their eyes peeled for our performance on the ole boob tube.

Calvin CD Release Party 5/14

Calvin's highly anticipated debut album is coming out this May, and we are celebrating the release at The End on May 14th in Nashville, TN. This is the show of shows for the Calvin crew, and we need the support of our hometown to make this a night that Nashville will never forget.

An orgy of shrill psychedelic guitar leads, heavy synth, playful rhythms, and indie pop elements make up Calvin's clean and dreamy rock soundscape.

Guitarist/vocalist Cory Johnson and bassist David Woods created Calvin in 2008. Cory and David began songwriting which quickly morphed into a shared vision of potentiality. This vision coalesced when writers/musicians Kurt Whitehill, Kevin Ferriman, and Billy Prosise were added to the mix thus propelling Calvin into an extremely diverse rock line-up.

This Saturday in the Boro

This Saturday Calvin will be performing at The Boro in Murfreesboro, TN. It is Calvin's first show since their hypnotic performance at The End in Nashville last November. Calvin is coming out of the studio with new material and is more energetic and enthused than ever before.

In addition, Calvin's close friends, The Dead Towns, will be lighting fire to the stage as well. The Dead Towns bring a mixture of chanted vocals, haunted synth, tasteful guitar licks, and a pulsing rhythm section while never forgetting their TN roots.

Lastly, Justin Webb of Nashville's rock staples, We Were the States, is going to be performing with his side project called The Pleasers.

Calvin will be getting this party started at 9pm on Saturday 4/30.

Calvin's Debut Album/Show in the Boro

We are proud to announce to you that we will be releasing Calvin's debut album on May 17th, 2011. Calvin's lineup was reconstructed back in Summer 2010, and we have been working in the studio ever since. Anyone will be able to download the album from our website at www.calvinband.com.

Also, we just booked a show at The Boro off Greenland in Murfreesboro, TN for April, 30th. All you Murfreesboro peeps should come out and get down!

Springwater and Basement shows/Sneak Peek

Hello!!! What up?!? This Friday, August 6th, The Temangerines are playing a show with Kill the City at the Springwater in Nashville. The show starts at 9pm, and it is 21 and up. The Temangerines are the opening act for the night. Come out if you don't have anything going on yet. We will definitely be throwing down hard on a Friday night!

As for Calvin, we are playing a show on August 10th at the Basement in Nashville. It is on a Tuesday night, but this will be a free show! Show starts at 9pm, and it is 21 and up. Calvin has some new material in the works so definitely come check this one out!

This week Calvin released a sneak peek to their debut album and plans on releasing one more to the public next week sometime. Keep up to speed here. The song Calvin released this week is titled "Hit the Ceiling." Enjoy!

Rutledge Show and More

Yoyoyoyo! what up everyone. I just wanted to hit everyone with a little info. Calvin is playing w/The Temangerines tomorrow night at the Rutledge off 4th in Nashville. We're going to get the show started at about 8pm, so it shouldn't keep anyone up too late on a weekday night. Don't miss it!

Also, The Temagerines have a show at Springwater on August 6th, and Calvin has a another show coming up at the Basement on August 10th. Both shows are in Nashville.

In the next couple of days Calvin will be revealing a song or two for everyone to be able to listen to from the recordings we have been working on. The album is still a little ways out, but we really want to get a couple of the jams out to everyone. So, keep your eyes peeled and check Calvin's facebook page periodically this week to see when we put them up.

Hope to see some faces out tomorrow night!

ahhhh what up?!?

I just wanted to hit everybody with a few things that are going on at the moment for Calvin. We are taking this week to do a lot of rehearsing for our show at the Rutledge in Nashville on July 28th, and knocking out the drums for our debut album later this week. We will then be very close to enter the mixing phase. I am so pumped for everyone to hear it!

Also, some of the members of Calvin are going to be at the Liars show at Exit/In tomorrow night. Anyone is more than welcome to come kick it with us and watch an awesome show!

Appreciation/More Shows/Other Acts to Check Out

What up yall?!? First off, thank you so much if you came to the Mercy Lounge to see the Temangerines or the Basement to see Calvin last week! We feel very loved and can't wait to perform for you all again very soon.

We have a few shows that are going down later this month. On July 21st Little Miss Mr will be doing a set at Melrose Pool Hall in Nashville with The Dead Towns. It should be an awesome time! We're gonna be throwing down that night for sure. Also, Calvin and The Temangerines are performing at The Rutledge in Nashville with The Dead Towns and Kat Smo. I can't wait for that one! People of Nashville, make sure you check that one out. Also, if you are in Memphis this weekend (the 16th and 17th) check out The Winslow Family Band at Newby's on July 16th at 9 pm and Fresh Hats Tight Beats at The P & H Cafe on the 17th at 9 pm.

Besides Calvin and The Temangerines there are other associated acts that I think you all should be familiar with. Performances

Hey everyone! I wanted to remind anyone that is in Nashville this week to come out to The Mercy Lounge tonight and The Basement tomorrow night for back to back free shows. Some members of Calvin are playing in the band The Temangerines at The Mercy Lounge for 8 off 8th. Again, this is a free show, so if you are free tonight (7/5/10) definitely come check it out.

As for tomorrow (7/6/10) night, Calvin will be performing for the first time since the last Calvin house party back in January. We are working with some new members, and we are very excited to perform with this lineup. Come check it out at The Basement underneath Grimey's record store tomorrow night for a free show.

New Blogsite/Basement Show/New Lineup

I decided to switch to this blogsite instead of using the old myspace one. so ya...calvinupdates.blogspot.com

To all you Nashvillians, we need your support. We need to pull some heads to the Basement on July 6th. It is our first show in over half a year, and we need to blow it up!

Also, I wanted to get it out to everyone that Calvin is working with a new lineup these days. Mr Whitehill and I are now playing with Kevin Ferriman (drums) and Billy Prosise (keys) from The Temangerines, and Kurt made the switch to bass. We are about to book some late summer shows with this lineup and already have one booked at The Rutledge off 4th in Nashville on July 28th with The Temangerines and The Dead Towns. If any of you peeps are involved in the music scene and ever need a band to play any shows Calvin is ready to go.

In addition, some of the members from Calvin are playing with The Temangerines, and they have a show on July 5th at Mercy Lounge. Now, both the Calvin and the Temangerine's shows are freebees, so if that will drag your fine ass out then so be it!
